In the latest edition of the NAWA Banach Scholarship Programme, the competition was intense – with 920 applications. In the end, 110 outstanding candidates from 24 countries were selected to pursue their academic dreams in Poland.

The programme opens the door for the most talented young people from developing countries to undertake Master’s studies at Polish universities with the scholarship.

According to initial choices, most of the new scholarship holders plan to continue their studies in Kraków, Poznań, Warsaw, and Wrocław. The universities that attracted the largest number of applicants include: Warsaw University of Technology, University of Warsaw, University of Wrocław, Poznań University of Life Sciences, Jagiellonian University in Kraków, and Wrocław University of Science and Technology.

Banach NAWA scholarship Programme is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Agency for Academic Exchange NAWA implemented under Polish Aid (a brand of Poland's development and humanitarian assistance), aimed at young people from developing countries who wish to take up studies in Poland. It covers scholarships for second-degree studies in Polish or in English at Polish universities supervised by the Minister of Science and Higher Educatuion.

Scholarship holders are exempt from paying education fees (at public universities) and receive a monthly NAWA scholarship of PLN 2,500 to cover living costs during their education in Poland.
