Professor Andrzej Urbanek
Doctor of Social Sciences with post-doctoral degree (habilitacja), Professor at the Pomeranian University in Słupsk, academically specializing in issues of national security theory, particularly in the problems of personal security and the concept of human security. An officer of the Polish Navy, in which he served professionally from 1984 to 2012. Graduate of Pedagogy at the then Higher School of Pedagogy in Słupsk (1991), participant in a doctoral seminar at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (1997-1999). Since 2008 he has been affiliated with the Pomeranian University in Słupsk. Among other duties, he served as Head of the Chair and then Director of the Institute for National Security, as well as Dean of the Faculty of Management and Security Sciences. He is the author of more than a dozen monographs, dozens of chapters in monographs and scientific articles published in national and international scientific journals, as well as a participant in many scientific projects, both Polish and international. As of 2019, Vice Rector for Education at the Pomeranian University in Słupsk.
