A university professor at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, University of Warsaw, and a research and teaching staff member of this Faculty. Since 2025, he has served as Vice-Dean for Research and Chair of the Scientific Council of the Discipline of Political Science and Public Administration. In the years 2016–2020, he served as Vice-Dean for Research and International Cooperation at the same Faculty.
Previously, he held positions including Deputy Director of the Institute of European Studies (2012–2016), Head of Full-Time Studies at the Department of European Studies (2010–2012), and Coordinator of Teacher Training at the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science, University of Warsaw (2010–2011). Since 2017, he has served as Academic Secretary of the Main Committee of the Polish Knowledge of Poland and the Contemporary World Olympiad.
He participated in the programme of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education “Leaders in University Management” (2019) and in activities implemented under the Excellence Initiative – Research University (IDUB) programme at the University of Warsaw. Since 2024, he has served as Chair of the Advisory Team to the Minister of Science for activities aimed at promoting Polish science abroad. He is an elected member of the Committee of Political Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
He cooperates with the Ministry of Education and the Central Examination Board, including as a co-author of the concept of the secondary school final examination (Matura) in civic education and as a member of expert teams working on national core curricula for civic education and citizenship education. He is an expert reviewer of school textbooks for the Ministry of Education and an expert of the Erasmus+ National Agency.
He has served as Secretary of the Board of the Polish Association for European Studies and as Secretary of the Board of the Scientific Committee “Socio-political Pluralism” of the International Political Science Association (IPSA). He completed research stays at foreign universities, including Western Ontario University (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions) and Tamkang University (Taiwan Fellowship). He has led several research projects and is the head of the Taiwan Studies at the University of Warsaw programme.
