Representative of the Minister responsible for the state budget, public finance and financial institutions
Professor at the Department of Macroeconomics at the Kraków University of Economics, which he has headed since 2016. He graduated from the Kraków University of Economics (major in International Economic and Political Relations, 1997) and from the Jagiellonian University (major in Law, 2000).
He defended his doctoral dissertation on modeling the equilibrium exchange rate in the context of monetary integration (2005). He obtained his habilitation degree on the basis of a series of publications devoted to the use of foreign exchange reserves to prevent financial crises and mitigate their effects in emerging economies (2015).
His research interests focus on international macroeconomics, monetary policy, financial crises in emerging economies, and the international monetary system. He has published his research, among others, in Journal of Macroeconomics, Journal of International Money and Finance, International Review of Economics and Finance, Economic Modelling, and Macroeconomic Dynamics. He has led and participated in several research projects funded by the National Science Centre.
He is a member of the editorial boards of Entrepreneurial Business and Economics Review and Gospodarka Narodowa. The Polish Journal of Economics. He has been a member of the NAWA Council since 2024. He was a candidate for the Monetary Policy Council, nominated by senators of the Civic Platform party (in 2015 and 2016).
