NAWA - a new player in the area of world-wide promotion of Poland
In Kalisz, public diplomacy consultations took place with the participation of the directors of Polish Institutes and representatives of embassies and institutions crucial for the public diplomacy. NAWA was represented by Director Łukasz Wojdyga, who gave a lecture on the role to be played by the National Agency for Academic Exchange in world-wide promotion of Poland.
At the event held on 29.11.-1.12.2017 the issues addressed included inter-ministerial cooperation and building institutional contacts abroad, historical diplomacy, especially in the context of the upcoming commemoration of the 100th National Independence Day, strengthening the impact of the Polish brand, and cooperation with the Polish diaspora and the media. The consultations also concerned the programme assumptions of Polish Radio External Service for 2018, as part of cooperation with Polish diplomatic posts.
Director of NAWA, Łukasz Wojdyga, presented the missions and tasks of the National Agency for Academic Exchange, as well as the areas of the Agency's future cooperation with the Polish Institutes and the embassies. The cooperation will focus on promoting Polish language and culture, strengthening scientific excellence (through implementing international mobility programmes for scientific and academic staff) and internationalizing Polish universities and scientific institutions through implementing short-term mobility programmes as well as programmes supporting the internationalization of education.
