The Poland My First Choice programme offers young people from developed countries the chance to undertake full-time second-cycle studies at Polish universities during the 2025/26 academic year, supported by a monthly scholarship.

As part of the programme, scholarship recipients can pursue their chosen field of study in Polish or English at a university supervised by the Minister of Science and Higher Education that has a framework agreement with NAWA. Those enrolling at public universities are also exempt from tuition fees.

Who can benefit from the programme?

  • Citizens of 44 countries and territories: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Chile, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Canada, Liechtenstein, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Germany, Norway, New Zealand, Portugal, Republic of Korea, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Sweden, Uruguay, the United States, Hungary, the United Kingdom, Italy and China - residents of Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan who
  • Are undergraduate students in one of the aforementioned countries and territories or who graduated no earlier than 2023.

Applications must be submitted to NAWA's ICT system by April 18, 2025 at 3:00 pm (CET).

Previous editions of Poland My First Choice in numbers


In previous editions of the programme, 95 students from 25 countries were awarded the scholarship, with the largest numbers coming from France, Italy, the United States, Spain, South Korea, and Lithuania.


The scholarship recipients studied at 22 universities, with most opting for Jagiellonian University, the University of Warsaw, the Technical University of Łódź, and Wrocław University. The most popular fields of study included international relations, management, economics and finance, as well as engineering disciplines such as environmental engineering and computer science fields like data science.
