In the past week NAWA hosted in its head seat the representatives of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security. We talked with the Chinese delegation about strengthening the cooperation between universities and scientific units, and about the possibilities related to scientists exchange.
On 24 May the representatives of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange: Deputy Director Zofia Sawicka, PhD, and the heads of Programme Divisions for Researchers, Institutions and Students along with the Communication and Promotion Division met with the representation of the Beijing governmental institution responsible, i.a., for increasing the mobility of researchers - Beijing Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security. We had the pleasure of inviting the General Director of the Bureau Mr Xu Xi, the Administrative Director Mr Ma Zhaojun and the Heads of various departments of the institution to our headquarters in Warsaw: Division of Foreign Experts, Foreigners Employment Affairs, and Division of Experts & Postdoctoral Affairs.
During the visit, Zofia Sawicka, PhD, presented NAWA’s the mission and priorities to the guests, and also talked about the programmes run by the Agency. Director Xu Xi brought the participants of the meeting closer to the projects run by the Beijing Bureau, and also drew attention to potential areas of cooperation, such as exchange of research associates from Poland and support for inter-university cooperation. The programme of International Academic Partnerships announced in May, giving, i.a., the possibility of implementing joint scientific conferences, and the programme for PhD students' long-term trips planned for autumn 2018 raised particular interest of the Chinese party which emphasized the importance of academic cooperation with Poland.
