On 25 April 2018, the representatives of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange met the delegation from China representing the Department of Education of the Sichuan Province Government. The guests visited Poland with Deputy Secretary General, Mr Li Guanghua, at the head. The delegation was accompanied by the representatives of the Polish-Chinese Education Foundation – President of the Foundation Dr Filip Czernicki, Mr Tadeusz Chomicki, Titular Ambassador and Chairman of the Foundation Programme Board, and Li Wenlong from the Polish-Chinese Education Foundation office in Beijing.
The NAWA representatives led by Dr Zofia Sawicka, Deputy Director of NAWA, presented the opportunities for cooperation between Poland and China. The subject of the talks focused on the NAWA programme offer, promotion of Polish higher education and Polish language in China and the presence of NAWA and Polish universities at the China Education Expo Fair, which will be held on 25 October in Chengdu. NAWA will be the organiser of the Polish stand as part of the Ready, study, GO! Poland campaign.
The Sichuan Province Government delegation came to Poland to participate in the Chinese educational fair, which was opened on 26 April in the morning by Dr Zofia Sawicka, Deputy Director of NAWA. The fair aims at presenting to Polish students and universities the potential of Sichuan universities and colleges, encouraging to study in Sichuan, and getting familiar with the offer of Polish universities in terms of increasing the number of students from China. The representatives from Sichuan will discuss in Warsaw the opportunities of establishing bilateral academic cooperation (inter alia, exchanges of students and academics, research cooperation, bilateral scientific visits). The fair is attended by 16 universities from the Sichuan province.
