NAWA extends the deadline for submitting applications to two Programmes addressed to researchers - the Bekker and Polish Returns Programmes. Applications for funding under these projects can be submitted by 4 June 2018. This is very good information for all scientists who want to submit their applications in the current call.

The Polish Returns Programme - without introducing a limitation of the fields of science, age or country of employment - is addressed to all Poles who, after their employment abroad, would like to continue their scientific development in Poland. It creates optimal conditions for the Returning Scientists to conduct scientific research in Poland or/and maintain developmental work at a global level.

The programme is open for applicants representing all scientific fields. The following centres which plan to employ a scientist returning from abroad may apply for the programme:

  • universities,
  • scientific units (research or scientific institutes of Polish Academy of Science),
  • other organizational units with a scientific category.

NAWA has also broadened the list of applicants for those units that are not universities or research or scientific institutes but have a scientific category. Detailed information are available in call for applications.

Under the Bekker Programme, scientists employed at Polish universities and scientific units will be given a chance to visit the best research centres in the world. Beneficiaries of the programme will be able to conduct research, didactics, obtain materials for publication or hold a scientific internship at a selected host centre around the world. Trips can last from 3 to 12 months and NAWA will provide a scholarship covering not only the cost of living in a foreign centre, but also a mobility allowance that covers relocation costs.

The Programme is open to scientists representing all fields of science. There are no restrictions introduced on the countries where host centres are located. The applications are submitted by the interested parties themselves, without the participation of an intermediary body. More information can be found in the announcement of the recruitment.
