Sebastian Tomasz Kołodziejczyk (PhD, Hab.) academic teacher at the Jagiellonian University. Chairman of the Council of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange since October 1, 2017.
In 1994-1997 he studied philosophy and theology at the Jagiellonian University, the Pontifical Academy of Theology and at the University of Bristol (UK). From 2000 to 2002, he completed his doctoral studies at the University of Bristol, and then at the University of Oxford. In 2002 he defended his doctoral thesis, and in 2015 he obtained habilitation. From 2008 to 2011, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the City University of New York and Universite de Geneve. Since 2002, he has been employed at the Institute of Philosophy of the Jagiellonian University. Head of the Ontology Department of the Institute of Philosophy at the Jagiellonian University and coordinator of the Jagiellonian Interdisciplinary PhD Programme.
He published several books and dozens of articles (among others, Conceptual boundaries of metaphysics (Monographs of the Foundation for Polish Science, two editions), Knowledge, Action, Pluralism. Contemporary Perspectives in Philosophy of Religion (with Janusz Salamon), Guide to metaphysics. Scientific editor of the series "Guides to philosophy" (Kraków: WAM). Editor-in-chief of the English-language magazine Polish Journal of Philosophy, deputy editor-in-chief of the Philosophical Quarterly. Member of the boards of scientific societies: Central European Society for Philosophy of Religion, Polish Philosophical Society, Polish Cognitive Science Society, and member and tutor within Collegium Invisibile and Artes Liberales Academy. Winner of many prizes and scholarships, including, among others, of Stanisław Estreicher Fund at Jagiellonian University, Adam Krzyżanowski Fund at Jagiellonian University, Foundation for Polish Science, Foundation of "Polityka" weekly magazine.
