The aim of the programme is to ensure the continuation of a career in research or academic activity for those at risk of persecution, violence, or discrimination in their country of origin, in particular on the grounds of race, gender, religion, political opinion, or membership of specific social groups, as well as those at risk of active armed conflict, natural disaster, human rights violations or lack of scientific freedom. Individuals with a doctoral degree or higher, and a decision of the Head of the Office for Foreigners on granting one of the forms of international protection issued under the Act of 13 June 2003 on granting protection to foreigners within the territory of the Republic of Poland (Journal of Laws of 2025, item 223) are eligible for support.
Entities referred to in Article 7(1)(1), (1)-(8) of the Act of 20 July 2018 - Law on Higher Education and Science are eligible to apply for funding of the project under the programme. The funding received will provide a full-time salary for a scientist at a Polish institution for a period of 2 years.
We hope the program will help create stable employment conditions in Poland for scientists at risk and enable them to continue their research or academic activities in a safe environment.
