dr Wojciech Karczewski

Dr. Wojciech Karczewski – Director of the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) since October 1, 2024.

Wojciech Karczewski holds a PhD in Social Sciences in the field of Management and Quality Sciences, obtained from the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw. He also completed postgraduate studies in IT Resource Management at the Warsaw University of Technology.

For 18 years, he has been managing international cooperation initiatives, including large-scale programmes and projects. To date, he has successfully completed 50 such initiatives.

He is an academic lecturer in subjects related to management and quantitative methods, including Organisational Management, Project Management, Organisational Behaviour, Leadership Competencies, and Statistical Methods.

He is the author of the scientific book Predyspozycje do wykonywania pracy wysoko zrutynizowanej w organizacj (Predispositions for Performing Highly Routine Work in Organisations) and co-author of the English-language academic book International Leadership and Management: Emerging, Contemporary, and Unorthodox Perspectives (with Prof. Christopher Neck, Prof. Adam Szpaderski, Dr. Piotr Cywiński, and Dr. Katarzyna Wojtkiewicz).

From 2023 to 2024, he worked at the consulting firm PwC, where he was responsible for projects in the UK and Middle East markets (primarily Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman).

From 2020 to 2023, he worked at SWPS University, serving as Director of the Office of International Cooperation and as the Rector’s Plenipotentiary for International Cooperation. During this time, he led SWPS to become the first private Polish university to join the European Universities Initiative, making it a member of the European Reform University Alliance. At the same university, he managed both the Polish and English-language tracks of the Management and Leadership programme.

From 2022 to 2024, he was a board member of EUPHE (European Union of Private Higher Education), an international organisation representing private European universities.

From 2014 to 2020, he worked at the consulting firm EY, where he was responsible for projects in the European market (primarily the UK, Switzerland, and Sweden).

From 2006 to 2014, he worked at Orange, where he oversaw international projects and initiatives.

During his studies, he worked at the Foundation for the Development of the Education System (FRSE), where he was involved in a programme supporting the development of international cooperation for Polish primary and secondary schools.
