  • We have opened applications for the General Anders Scholarship Programme for Polish diaspora. This is the 8th edition of our flagship program, thanks to which over 4,700 young people of Polish origin from different parts of the world – from Colombia through Spain to Kyrgyzstan – have come to study in Poland.

The scholarship programme is addressed to individuals planning to pursue full-time first-cycle, second-cycle, or uniform Master's studies in Poland. This initiative aims to facilitate higher education in Poland. Applicants may also consider a one-year NAWA preparatory course prior to their studies. Current students enrolled in first-cycle, second-cycle, or uniform master's programs may apply exclusively for a scholarship to continue their full-time studies, contingent upon maintaining excellent academic performance.

The offers are being unified to include individuals of Polish descent who do not hold Polish citizenship, as well as those with dual citizenship. Beginning with the 2025 recruitment cycle, candidates with dual citizenship will be eligible to apply for scholarships for full-time second-cycle studies after completing their first-cycle studies in Poland, as well as for scholarships to continue previously undertaken studies in Poland.

NAWA has planned nearly PLN 32 million for this year's recruitment, of which nearly PLN 28 million are funds earmarked for the implementation of scholarships as part of the recruitment for first-cycle studies and long-cycle master's studies.

    Anders NAWA Programme

The General Anders Scholarship Programme for Polish diaspora is addressed to young people of Polish origin. The programme promotes Poland as a country of attractive educational opportunities, strengthens level of qualifications in the Polish communities abroad and is an opportunity to learn about culture and history of Poland.

The programme enables young people of Polish origin to undertake first-cycle, second-cycle or uniform Master’s degree studies in Poland at higher education institutions supervised by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Culture and Cultural Heritage.

The scholarship covers full-time studies in a wide range of fields except for applied linguistics and foreign languages (apart from Polish philology). The studies must be held in Polish. The studies may be preceded by a yearly preparatory course designed to improve Polish language skills and deepen knowledge related to the field of future studies.

The candidates must be holders of the Pole’s Card or young people with dual citizenship (of Poland and of other country), having completed secondary education outside Poland. Candidates are selected on the basis of the calls for proposals and its specific criteria. The calls for proposals are announced on annual basis.

Since the inception of the programme, NAWA has received over 11,500 applications from representatives of the Polish diaspora worldwide and more than 4,700 young individuals of Polish descent have pursued their studies in Poland through the Anders NAWA scholarship.
