The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange is launching the second edition of the Walczak Programme.

The Programme is directed at doctors and scientists in the areas of: cardiology, cardiac surgery, oncology, allergology, diabetology, psychiatry and infectious diseases. It gives the scholarship holders the possibility to visit the best medical centres in the United States. The stays can last between three and six months. The Walczak Programme is a joint initiative of NAWA and the Ministry of Health.

The persons who carry out projects under the Programme have the opportunity to develop their scientific and professional careers as well as to gain experience in the international scientific community in the areas of preventive healthcare, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, tumours and many others, which in turn will contribute to the improvement of medical care in Poland.

The Walczak Programme ensures a scholarship covering the living allowance for the beneficiary’s stay at the foreign host institution amounting to PLN 12,000 for each month of the stay plus a one-time mobility allowance in the amount of PLN 10,000.

17 scholarships were granted in the first edition of the Walczak Programme. The beneficiaries visited among others Harvard Medical School, Ohio State University and University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. This year’s edition has been expanded to cover three new areas: cardiac surgery, diabetology and psychiatry.

We are waiting for individual applications from doctors and scientists until 30 April 2020.
