A delegation of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange held a meeting with the authorities of the University of Jordan, focused on the development of academic and cultural cooperation between Poland and Jordan. The talks were also attended by the leadership of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Amman.
The aim of the meeting was to discuss ways to strengthen existing forms of cooperation and to identify new areas of partnership. Particular attention was given to the promotion of the Polish language and the development of student and academic staff mobility, as key elements of long-term institutional cooperation.
The Deputy Director of NAWA, Damian Syjczak, emphasised the importance of the Polish language programme currently operating at the University of Jordan. During the discussions, he proposed considering the elevation of Polish language teaching to the level of an official diploma programme, as well as the possibility of establishing a joint Polish-English undergraduate degree programme.
The meeting also addressed issues related to promoting the Polish language at the university, expanding academic mobility for students and researchers, and organizing lectures on Polish language and culture. These activities may contribute to further strengthening cultural and academic ties between Poland and Jordan and to increasing interest in studying and pursuing research cooperation with Polish institutions.
As part of the visit, the NAWA delegation also met with students of the University of Jordan who are learning Polish. This provided an opportunity to learn about their experiences, motivations, and plans related to further education and cooperation with Poland.
The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange extends its thanks to the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Amman for co-organising the visit and for its support in the implementation of this important initiative, which represents another step in the development of international academic cooperation.
