The European Union under the “EU4Belarus: Solidarity with the people of Belarus” programme is launching a call for proposals for EU4Belarus – SALT (Support for Advanced Learning and Training) scholarships for Belarusian students who are already studying at universities in Lithuania, Latvia,Czechia, and Poland, as well as for those who will start their studies in the academic years 2021/22 and 2022/23.

The scholarship is available for the entire period of study at the bachelor's or master’s level and is worth 450 EUR per month paid from September to June. Additionally, a one-time reimbursement of travel expenses will be provided. Students of Lithuanian, Latvian, Czech, and Polish universities and those who have applied for the academic year 2021/22 and fulfil at least one of the following criteria may apply:

  1. Those who have suffered repression during the protests related to the 2020 presidential election and have been forced to leave Belarus;
  2. Those experiencing financial difficulties or who does not have enough funds to live in one of the four countries listed;
  3. Those who have a disability.

Application deadline is September 6, 2021.

“EU4Belarus: Solidarity with the People of Belarus” is a set of special measures adopted by the European Union in response to the political crisis following the presidential elections in Belarus. Its overall objective is to contribute towards reinforcing resilience to achieve civic empowerment and sustainable economic growth in Belarus. The EU4Belarus – SALT programme is administered by the Central Project Management Agency and implemented in cooperation with the Education Office at Svetlana Tikhanovskaya’scabinet.
