We have the results of the call for applications in the Ulam Programme 2021. Poland will welcome 51 researchers from abroad (four Beneficiaries under the Seal of Excellence Initiative)
The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) has announced the results of the third edition of the Ulam Programme. The Programme entails inviting outstanding foreign researchers from abroad to collaborate with Polish universities and scientific institutions.
In the third edition of the Ulam Programme, 51 scientists have been awarded scholarships. They will commence their research stays at Polish universities and scientific institutes from January 2022. This year’s beneficiaries have been selected from more than 290 applicants interested in doing research in Poland.
The majority of the applications that have been granted funding were submitted by scientists from India, Iran, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom, United States and China.
When it comes to the fields of science, 21 scholarships were awarded in the area of engineering and technology, 17 in natural sciences, 7 in social sciences, 3 in medical and health sciences, 2 in the humanities and 1 in agricultural sciences.
In total, 41 scientists will collaborate with Polish higher education institutions, 9 with institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and 1 with research institutes.
