On September 11 and 12, 2024, you are invited to Warsaw for the 2nd Internationalisation Congress!
On these days, Warsaw will become the centre of a debate on international research cooperation. The main issue will be the future of Polish science. Several hundred representatives of universities and research institutions from all over Poland, and foreign experts will meet at the hospitable premises of the University of Warsaw, a partner of the event organized by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange and the National Science Centre.
The 2nd Internationalization Congress is a continuation of the debate started in Gdańsk in spring, it aims at developing wise strategies for the internationalization of Polish higher education and science.
The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange, as the coordinator of work on the national strategy for the internationalisation of higher education and science, implemented under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, jointly with the National Science Center and the University of Warsaw, continue the debate with the academic and scientific community on how to wisely develop the internationalisation of science in Polish universities and scientific institutes.
The Internationalisation Congress is carried out as part of the project entitled “Strategy for the internationalisation of Polish higher education and science” with the European Funds for Social Development: Measures FERS.01.05 Skills in higher education.
During the congress, experts from all over Europe who deal with the creation and implementation of national internationalization strategies will present their experiences. Participants will discuss recommendations for Poland, which, under the auspices of NAWA, is working on a national strategy for the internationalization of science and higher education.
The event will cover a wide range of issues, including the extent to which the country's vision of development should include internationalization and the participation of Polish researchers in the EU framework programs. In the context of the 25th anniversary of Poland's participation in the EU Framework Programs and the upcoming EU FP10, experts will assess the impact of international cooperation on the development of Polish research and scientific institutions.
Particular attention will be paid to European talent retention strategies in research, innovation and entrepreneurship. Polish scientists who have successfully worked abroad will share their stories, describing how international mobility influenced the development of their careers.
Issues of alliances of European Universities and their role in building strategic relationships and improving the quality and effectiveness of scientific research will also be discussed. Conclusions from the two-day meeting will be an important contribution to the creation of a national strategy for the internationalization of higher education and science.
An inter-ministerial debate of deputy ministers of: science, foreign affairs, funds and regional policy, as well as development and technology will be the key point of the program of the 2nd Congress. It will be participated by prof. Andrzej Szeptycki, Henryka Mościcka-Dendys PhD, Jan Szyszko and Ignacy Niemczycki. The inaugural lecture will be delivered by professor Hans de Wit – an outstanding Dutch expert in the field of internationalization.
