    Graduated with a bachelor's degree in journalism and social communication (with a specialization in the school of journalists of the ethnic and cultural borderlands), as well as a master's degree in political science (with a specialization in marketing in administration, economy and politics) and a master's degree in political science (with a specialization in media studies) from the University of Szczecin.

    During his studies, Dr. Damian Syjczak served as Secretary of the University Council of Doctoral Students' Self-Government and Vice-Chairman of the Faculty Council of Doctoral Students' Self-Government of the Faculty of Philology. He was also a member of the Senate at the University of Szczecin, the Humanities Faculty Council and the Disciplinary Appeals Committee. Vice President of the Scientific Circle “Pro Res Publica.” Co-organizer of the International Conference of Doctoral Students “MKDUS”. Repeatedly awarded scholarships of the Rector and the Minister for outstanding scientific achievements.

    Graduate of the first edition of the Academy of Social Democracy. Participant and speaker at seminars and conferences organized in Poland and abroad by, among others, Ferdinand Lassalle Center for Social Thought, Amicus Europae Foundation, Global.Lab Foundation, Ignacy Daszynski Center, Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, Łukasiewicz Research Network, National Center for Research and Development. Member of the “Progressive Poland-Germany Network”. Friedrich Ebert Foundation.

    From 2020 to 2024, dr Syjczak worked as an advisor at the European Parliament in Brussels and Strasbourg, responsible for coordinating the MEP's work in the TRAN and CONT committees, as well as in the EU-US and EU-Israel delegations. He worked with members of the Intergroup on National Minorities and Regional Languages and the plenipotentiaries of university rectors on European Union affairs. During his work at the EP, he was a substantive supervisor of interns - students from, among others, the Warsaw School of Economics, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and the University of Zielona Góra. Organizer of events and study visits of university representatives to European institutions, Office of Science Promotion PolSCA of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Brussels and Business & Science Poland office. In cooperation with Europe Direct Guben and Zielona Gora offices, he coordinated information sessions for school students from Poland and Germany on European topics.

    Served as Head of the Political Cabinet of the Minister of Science, responsible, among other things, for contacts with the conferences of rectors, the Parliament of Students of Poland, the National Representation of Doctoral Students, the National Agency for Academic Exchange, the Permanent Representation of Poland to the EU and the NCBiR office in Brussels. He cooperated with the Parliamentary Standing Subcommittee on Science and Higher Education and the Chairman of the Polish Language Council at the Presidium of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
