Polish-American Freedom Foundation and Leaders of Change Foundation, Program administrator, announce an open competition for candidates from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan,Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan for The Lane Kirkland Scholarships in Poland in the 2019-2020 academic year.

The Program is addressed to young leaders and experts, holding Master’s (or equivalent) university degrees, who are determined to be actively involved in the development of democracy, economy and civil society intheir countries and the region. The program includes two semesters of study at Polish universities (inWarszawa, Kraków, Wrocław, Poznań and Lublin) and two or more weeks professional internships in publicand private institutions. Candidates who represent the following fields: Economics and Management, Administration/Management (i.e. business, NGOs, culture, environment protection and healthcare,education), Public Administration (Central and Local Government Administration), Law, Social Sciences (Social Psychology, Sociology), Political Science and International Relations, Development Policy and Humanitarian Aid, and who are planning to return to their countries of origin after the scholarship program for the purpose of implementing the newly acquired knowledge therein are welcome to submit their applications.

The ideas and objectives of the Lane Kirkland Scholarships Program include, among other things, supporting democratic and free market transformations in other Central and Eastern European countries. In total, in the years 2000-2018, 787 grantees from eleven countries completed the Program. 238 diplomas with honors were awarded. From the academic year 2019/2020, the Program has expanded its operations to include two more countries: Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
