From April 1, Agnieszka Stefaniak-Hrycko is the acting director of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange.

On March 31, Prime Minister, Mr. Mateusz Morawiecki accepted the resignation of Łukasz Wojdyga from holding the post of NAWA director. His duties will be performed by the current deputy director - Agnieszka Stefaniak-Hrycko, who was appointed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and Higher Education, Mr. Jarosław Gowin, until a new director will take they office.

Ms. Stefaniak-Hrycko took important part in determining the shape of the Agency’s program offer since the very beginning of its functioning, dealing primarily with issues of mobility of academic staff. Earlier, for many years, she was associated with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, where she performed expert and managerial functions in the Minister's Office and in the Department of Science. Pursuant to the NAWA Act, the new director of the Agency will be appointed by the Prime Minister at the request of the minister responsible for science issues.
