A delegation from the National Academic Exchange Agency and the Ministry of Education and Science met with representatives from the Thai Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation during the APAIE 2023 Conference and Exhibition, which is taking place in Bangkok. During the meeting, the modalities of an inbound offer for Thais under the Zawacka NAWA programme were agreed.
NAWA would like to underline the growing interest in bilateral cooperation with Southeast Asian countries, both for individual scholarships, bilateral agreements and multilateral cooperation between universities and other academic institutions. Hence, the opportunity to offer 5 one-year scholarships (tuition fee waiver of approximately 100,000 THB/year + stipend of 12,500 THB/month) to Thai students coming to Poland within the framework of the Polish - Thai bilateral cooperation agreement (Zawacka NAWA programme).
Zawacka NAWA is a programme of the exchange of students and scientists as part of bilateral cooperation - outgoing and incoming offers. The aim of the Programme is to create opportunities to establish or deepen existing academic cooperation through individual trips abroad or visits to Poland, in accordance with the provisions of the intergovernmental agreement signed between Poland and 24 countries.
From academic year 2023/2024, NAWA includes an offer for Thai students in the NAWA Zawacka Programme.
Applications should be addressed to the Thai Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, which cooperates with the Polish Embassy in the Kingdom of Thailand in accepting applications. The deadline for applications to NAWA is 31st May 2023. The number of funded scholarships from 5 may increase in subsequent years on a reciprocal basis.

In 2022, nearly 300 students from Thailand study in Poland. The inclusion of Thailand in Zawacka NAWA inbound offer is a very important step in terms of Polish - Thai cooperation in higher education and science.
