We announce the call for applications for the fifth edition of the NAWA Polonist Programme. Its aim is to promote the Polish language and popularise Polish studies and research in the world by enabling foreigners interested in Polish language and culture to undertake studies or research projects in Poland.
We invite foreign students, doctoral students and researchers whose studies or research focus on the Polish language, Polish culture, art, literature and history to participate in the programme. Under the programme, students and doctoral students may receive scholarships for full or partial studies in Polish studies at selected universities in Poland. Researchers - scholarship holders of the NAWA Polonist Programme - can carry out research projects lasting from 3 to 12 months at Polish universities.
NAWA's Polonist Programme is one of those projects that showcases the beauty of Polish culture through the study of the Polish language and encourages scholars to do more research in Polish studies. - says NAWA Director General Dr Dawid Kostecki.
A novelty in this year's edition is the extension of the programme offer to include scholarships for Polish scholars who would like to carry out research or didactic projects at foreign academic centres offering Polish studies. The programme is open to projects aimed at strengthening and expanding the activities of foreign universities offering Polish studies, Polish studies or Slavonic studies in Polish.

In the 4 editions of the programme to date, 159 people have received NAWA scholarships, including 138 students and doctoral students and 21 researchers.
Programme scholarship holders came to Poland from 22 countries.
16 scientific institutions and universities in Poland were selected by scholarship holders as host centres.
